Caution when cleaning teeth.

Pets have teeth too. Pets can suffer from dental disease just like people can. February is National Pet Dental Health Month and the focus of North Hill Animal Hospital is on teeth. Over 85% of dogs and cats over the age of 3 years have some form of dental disease. These dental issues often lead to discolored teeth and bad breath. To treat these dental issues, professional cleaning of the teeth is required and this involves the use of an anesthetic. Some facilities may advocate the use of “Anesthetic Free Dental Cleanings”. These pose a real threat to your pet’s health. This is a video put out by the Veterinary News Network on the dangers of Anesthetic Free Dental Cleaning.
